and the ice cream?  blueberry cookies and cream.  a specific request by leo.  talk about full of color!  the purple of it is amazing.  to think that pure nature made that color...

the wonderful recipe is from epicurious.com.  instead of the 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, brian split that into about 1 cup heavy cream, and 1/2 cup goats milk.  he used the kitchenaide stand mixer ice cream maker attachment (what a mouthful!), and after the ice cream is just about done and getting stiff, added the cookies (mmmm... trader joe's joe joe's!).  and presto... a deeeeelish desert.  or snack.  or breakfast!  in leo's world.
