a simple, messy, wonderfully smelling, activity...

not only fun in the end, but an equally fun process...

i started with this recipe...

although the amounts can be played with... it's the ingredients that matter.

soap... shredded...

toilet paper... torn...

warm water... added...

equals clean mud... squished.

in the backyard...

where so many of our days are spent...

i step back as the learning just unfurls...

where do the bugs live... why do they live there... what kind of bugs can be found...

the coolness of the dirt... the crawling roly poly... the smoothness of the slugs...

the weight of the tree stumps... 

is it an insect... what else can it be...

and i am so grateful for the day... for the time... for these two little beings full of wonder.
