preschoolers...at the southern institute!

a few months back, i was asked by jenny, author over at the southern institute for arts and crafts, to write about leo's birth.  since then, we've continued to get to know each other through many emails, and what a pleasure it's been!  her blog is quite addicting...the beautiful pictures...the adventures (i'm so jealous of that trip to folly beach!)...and her beautiful creations...all so sweetly composed!  in addition to all of that, jenny has three beautiful children...including a little boy who is preschool aged...and wouldn't you know it, i was a preschool teacher for quite some time, until i decided to become a full-time mommy :)  and with that...arrived...

i'm so excited!!!!!

jenny asked me to do a series of posts...about development, behaviors, strategies...all about preschoolers!  it's not often that i get sooooo motivated to write (as you can tell from my sparse blogs ;)  ) but boy, has this been fun!

head over to the southern institute for domestic arts and crafts to see what we've been up to!

  2. Jenny's blog sounds incredibly inspiring! It's wonderful how she balances creativity, motherhood, and those envy-inducing adventures. As a former preschool teacher, I'm curious what kind of learning activities she finds most engaging for her little one. I bet the arts and crafts background helps! I wonder if he's ever played the Dinosaur Game.

  3. I totally get the excitement you’re feeling! When I first started exploring preschooler behaviors, I found it incredibly helpful to hear from parents and educators on platforms like Omegle. Just chatting informally with different people gave me fresh ideas and insights that really improved my understanding. If you're ever stuck or want new perspectives, Omegle can be a great way to connect and learn naturally without any pressure. It’s like tapping into a real-time experience.

  4. I completely understand your excitement! Writing about preschoolers can be so rewarding because their development and behaviors are fascinating to observe. When I was volunteering at a local childcare center, I found that simple strategies often made the biggest difference. If you're ever looking for affordable and fun learning materials, Monkey Mart is a great place to check out—they have some really useful resources for early childhood education. Keep up the great work with your posts!

  5. This is so exciting! It's wonderful you're channeling your preschool expertise into these posts for Jenny. I remember those days fondly (and sometimes not so fondly!). It's amazing how quickly they learn and grow at that age. I bet you'll have so much insightful advice to share. If you need a quick brain break between articles, I find a round of Snow Rider 3D is surprisingly relaxing! Good luck with the series!

  6. It's great to see such creative collaboration among bloggers! Jenny’s work at the Southern Institute beautifully showcases her talent, and it's even more special having a connection through parenting. Speaking of creativity, if you ever need a break while kids are playing, consider playing Cookie Clicker for a fun and relaxing distraction.

  7. It’s wonderful how connections form through sharing stories—like your experience writing about Leo’s birth and staying in touch with Jenny. It reminds me of how easy it is to meet new people and swap stories on platforms like Omegle. Sometimes, these unexpected chats lead to meaningful friendships, much like your journey from preschool teacher to full-time mom. Thanks for sharing such a heartfelt update!

  8. It's amazing how shared experiences, even just online, can blossom into genuine friendships. Her blog is addictive – those Folly Beach pictures especially made me want to pack my bags! Being a preschool teacher must've been so rewarding. As a stay-at-home mom, I totally get the switch. Sometimes, when I need a mental break from the chaos, I dive into a sudoku puzzle. It's like a little brain workout that helps me refocus, you know? Even messing up a number is strangely satisfying sometimes!

  9. It's wonderful how you and Jenny connected over Leo's birth and blossomed into such a genuine friendship. I totally get lost in her blog too – those pictures are dreamy! Being a full-time mom is a whole adventure in itself, isn't it? Sometimes, when things get really chaotic, I need a brain break and I find myself playing Eggy Car! It’s ridiculous, but hilarious when you fail and the egg goes flying. But when you get past the level you’ve been stuck on for a few tries, you feel like you achieved something amazing.

  10. Thinking about preschooler development makes me remember my nephew's obsession with Melon Playground . He spends hours creating little scenarios and narratives within the game. It's fascinating to watch how creative and engaged he gets with it, definitely reflecting some key developmental stages. I can't wait to read your posts!

  11. It's funny, the article talked about finding beauty in the everyday – which is great and all, but sometimes you just need a change of scenery, right? Like, I love my kids, but staring at the same four walls is... intense. It's like in horror games when you’re trapped in a small room! You just gotta get out sometimes, even if it's just mentally planning a trip. Folly Beach is now officially back on the list!

  12. Oh, that's such a lovely connection to make! It's always great when you bond over shared experiences, especially something as impactful as being a preschool teacher. Her blog sounds delightful, I love stumbling upon those creative havens. Sometimes I get so engrossed, it's like that moment in Agario when you're just cruising, collecting, and then BAM – someone much bigger swallows you whole, snapping you back to reality! Enjoy connecting with Jenny!

  13. This game still gives me chills even after all these years! The jump scares are iconic, and the lore keeps me coming back for more theories. I've spent so many hours dissecting every detail in Fnaf, wondering if Fnaf VR is the scariest game yet. What's your favorite animatronic, and why?

  14. Totally relate to what you said about the frantic rush in these games! It's not just about speed, but that constant mental checklist of orders. I remember playing papa's pizzeria back in the day and getting so stressed trying to remember toppings AND not burn the crust. The feeling of finally getting a perfect score after a particularly tricky customer was just chef's kiss. It's oddly satisfying chaos. Makes you wonder if real chefs feel that pressure!

  15. This is such a sweet collaboration! It sounds like the perfect match for both of you. Imagining the little ones, like budding speed stars , learning and growing through these wonderful insights. Can't wait to read the series!
